Most Holy Redeemer Staff...Deacon Brian Bromberger |
|||||
![]() |
Note: Deacon Mr. Brian Bromberger no longer serves at Most Holy Redeemer. He is currently serving at St. John of God Church in San Francisco. The atmosphere at MHR can
corrupt good priests and laypeople. We are all sinners. We
have no desire to attack any person, clerical or lay, for
the sake of attacking, but if we are to show the harm caused
by the embracing of homosexuality at MHR, we must tell the
truth. That's Deacon Brian
Bromberger at right, with Rev. John Kirkley,
Rector
of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal
Church
in San
Francisco.
They've just
celebrated a service at MHR together. From Rev. Kirkley's
website: |
|||||
"I'm a priest of
the Episcopal Church serving a small, growing, progressive
parish in San Francisco. Prior to ordination, I worked in
the non-profit sector for about a decade, ultimately
focusing on fundraising. I'm an INFJ and an Enneagram One.
Married to my partner, Andrew, for 12 years, we have one
son, Nehemiah." We point to this as
evidence for our thesis that the organizing principle at MHR
is not Catholicism but homosexuality. The "Ecumenism"
they practice is in fact quite rigid. One's religious
affiliation is irrelevant--what matters is one's attitude
towards "gay rights." That is the issue on which compromises will not be made, where differences will not be tolerated.
Deacon Bromberger was ordained in 2005. From his remarks at Mass
that Day June 19, 2005 at MHR: (which also happened to be
the opening of "Pride Week" in San Francisco): "While my ordination may be a milestone in my own spiritual life, more importantly its a significant event in the life of our faith community here at MHR. Im a symbol. A symbol of service which reveals everyones reliance here on our Lord Jesus Christ as his disciples....So my entrance to the diaconate is really a celebration of the vibrant life of the Holy Spirit who is alive and thriving at MHR and who animates all of us to make the gospel a vibrant indispensable presence in our city which is why I cordially invite everyone here to attend my ordination this afternoon. Here is Deacon Bromberger (images #24 & #25) at the 2005 "Gay Pride Parade" Here he is (image #33) at the 2007 parade. For a reminder of what goes on at the "Gay Pride" parade, go here. As noted above, Deacon Bromberger no longer serves as Deacon at Most Holy Redeemer. He now serves at St. John of God in San Francisco. According to flyers left in the Church he led St. John of God parishioners at San Francisco's 2011 Gay Pride Parade. In a homily given at St. John of God on January 31, 2010 Deacon Bromberger observed: "The prerequisite for receiving the grace of God is to know you need it." That sounds right. Unfortunately, in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, their are churchmen teaching that one does not need the grace of God, at least not when the issue in question is homosexuality. That is what caused us to create this website. |
